This course contains; Nature of light and wave feature, electromagnetic spectrum, intensity of light and enlightenment, movement of light in different media, laws of reflection, laws of refracting, transition of light from parallel environment, full reflection, image formation on plane mirror, image formation on concave mirror, image formation on convex mirrors, converging lens and image formation, divergent lenses and image formation


OPT 102 Physics and Geometric Optics II

In this lecture, srudents are informed about interference of light, interference in thin membrane, light diffraction, scattering and polarization of the light, angle of prism, type of prism, prismatic effect, diopter of prism, prentice rule, determination of the prism base direction, use of the polarization on lenses, optical systems, Characteristics of the Concave (-) and Convex (+) lens, magnifying glass, microscope, binoculars and telescopes


OPT 103 Introduction to Opticianry

This course contains; Introduction to professional terms, introduction to professional duties and responsibilities, discussion to current Opticianry law in Turkey, introduction to optical lenses, introduction to eyeglasses frames, measuring eyeglasses frame size, diopters and classification of the eyeglasses with diopter and chemical structure.

OPT 105 Ocular Anatomy and Physiology

This course includes the general chemistry topics that students can use in their professional practice and the properties of different chemical structures such as polymers and glasses that they use.

OPT 203 Opticianry II

This course contains; Vertex distance, eyeglasses frame tilt, type of eyeglasses frames, choosing right eyeglasses frame, progressive lens fits to full eyeglasses frame, fitting lens into nylor eyeglasses frame, pattern and fitting of rimless eyeglasses frame


OPT 204 Opticianry III

Management of an optical store, writing in record (prescription) book, improving customer relationship, design for interior of an optical store, the properties of the system provides recording and tracking medical products


OPT 205 Principles of Marketing and Sale

The course content firstly covers principles on marketing so that students could answer basic questions on the topic. Sales are going to be held first theoretically, than practically. Within the theoretical part sociological and psychological factors that would surface for being held with customers will be examined. During, there will be quizzes to measure up students so far knowledge. Practical part, which also covers the term paper, will be held through how students use effective sales techniques, under the case study circumstances that the lecturer provides. In this way, students who had their theoretical knowledge, would try to use their knowledge practically within the lesson.

TRH 100 Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolution

This course provides a general information of the events from the end of the 19. century until the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923 and the following period until 1990’s.


TRK 100 Turkish

Students will be taught how to use the written and verbal communication tools accurately and efficiently in this course. Various types of verbal and written statements will be examined through a critical point of view by doing exercises on understanding, telling, reading, and writing. Punctuation and spelling rules, which are basis of written statement, will be taught and accurate usage of these rules for efficient and strong expression will be provided. As for verbal statement, students will be taught how to use the body language, use accent and intonation elaborately, and use presentation techniques.
