Physiotherapy is a rapidly developing profession whose importance continues to grow both in Türkiye and worldwide. Accordingly, the demand for qualified professionals in this field is steadily increasing. The growing number of individuals requiring physiotherapy due to various diseases, injuries, and age-related conditions has further increased the need for physiotherapy technicians who possess the knowledge and competencies to support physiotherapists. The aim of our Physiotherapy Program is to educate physiotherapy technicians who are equipped with up-to-date scientific and technological knowledge, capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, committed to professional ethics, and able to perform their duties within the scope of their authority and responsibilities with the necessary professional knowledge and practical skills.
In addition to comprehensive theoretical instruction, our students gain extensive hands-on experience in our well-equipped laboratories and at our affiliated hospitals. They also have the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge and skills through compulsory summer internships. Furthermore, by participating in the University's rich social, cultural, and sporting activities, our students enjoy the privilege of being part of the İzmir University of Economics community.
Upon graduation, our students become valuable members of the physiotherapy team, contributing to the improvement of the health, functional capacity, and quality of life of individuals with congenital or acquired diseases and disabilities, while supporting their physical, social, and environmental independence. Equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence gained through their education at İzmir University of Economics, our graduates are well prepared for successful careers in a wide range of healthcare settings, including physical therapy and rehabilitation clinics, public hospitals, private hospitals, and spa and thermal treatment centers.
Graduates of the program also have the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing, or Health Management by taking the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), in accordance with the relevant legislation.
