Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide basic knowledge about the principles and notions of Turkish property law and subjects such as possession, real rights and land registry, and also to ensure that the knowledge gained in this course will be used in solving future disputes.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to describe the principles prevailing Turkish property law
  • Will be able to discuss whether the ownership status has been gained in a dispute in relation to possession and land registry
  • Will be able to describe what land registry and its principles are
  • Will be able to compare the types of ownership, and the differences and similarities between those types and limited real rights
  • Will be able to classify limited real rights by considering their legal aspects
Course Description Course content includes notions of property and real rights, general principles prevailing real rights, notions of possession and land registry, land registry organization, responsibility of the state, ownership, subject matter and scope of ownership, acquisition and limitation of ownership, and limited real rights.
