Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce students the fundamentals of psychometrics, technical and methodological principles of psychometrics and its current approaches.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to make score transformations and norm calculations.
  • Will be able to have an understanding of the theoretical basis of psychological measurement techniques such as reliability theory and validity.
  • Will be able to list different types of validity and reliability.
  • Will be able to apply statistical techniques used in investigation of validity and reliability to real-life data sets.
  • Will be able to interpret the results of the analyses conducted.
  • Will be able to explain the usage areas of the tests frequently used in the field of psychology.
Course Description The course has been designed to inform students about the nature, aims and usage of psychological tests, historical development of psychometrics, ethical issues in psychometrics, basic statistical concepts related to psychometrics, interpretation of norms and test scores, validity and reliability types in classical test theory.
