Course Objectives To provide a general understanding through the study of different fields and subjects of law.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • In general, they will define and discuss legal issues correctly.
  • They will apply basic legal principles and explain basic legal terms.
  • They will understand the Turkish judicial system.
  • They will research legal issues from different sources.
  • They will develop themselves in different areas of law
Course Description The course aims to develop the student’s knowledge on law within the major domains of fundamentals and general rules of law, sources of law - fundamental rights and freedoms, hierarchy of norms, intellectual rights and advertising law, reason for lawfulness, and the limits of professional practice and types of liability. In summary the course targets to make students explore issues on different aspects of law.

To be able to have fundamental knowledge about narrative forms in cinema, digital and interactive media, and the foundational concepts relevant to these forms.

To be able to create narratives based on creative and critical thinking skills, by using the forms and tools of expression specific to cinema and digital media arts.

To be able to use the technical equipment and software required for becoming a specialist/expert in cinema and digital media.

To be able to perform skills such as scriptwriting, production planning, use of the camera, sound recording, lighting and editing, at the basic level necessary for pre-production, production and post-production phases of an audio-visual work; and to perform at least one of them at an advanced level.

To be able to discuss how meaning is made in cinema and digital media; how economy, politics and culture affect regimes of representation; and how processes of production, consumption, distribution and meaning-making shape narratives.

To be able to perform the special technical and aesthetic skills at the basic level necessary to create digital media narratives in the fields of interactive film, video installation, experimental cinema and virtual reality.
