A- TUITION FEE SCHOLARSHIP
A.1. FULL SCHOLARSHIP 
The “Full Scholarship” is awarded to students placed with “Full Scholarship” quota indicated in OSYS (Student Selection and Placement System) Guideline.
The “Full Scholarship”, provided for students who have been placed into undergraduate (4-year) degree programs of Izmir University of Economics , covers:

·         Annual tuition fees, including Summer School fees,
 
·         The opportunity of staying in the dormitory, free of charge, provided by the University for the students who reside out of Izmir, whose transportation is not possible via public transportation vehicles in Izmir, and those who reside in the districts determined by the University. In case of non-availability of the University dormitory, students, who reside in places other than the University dormitory, will be granted 350TL monthly for 9 months.  

“Full Scholarship”, provided for students, who have been placed into IUE Vocational School (2-year) programs, covers the tuition fees only. These students will not be charged any tuition fees throughout their education.

A.2. OTHER QUOTA SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are awarded to students who were placed into one of the 50%, 25% scholarship programs specified in OSYM Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guideline.
These students will pay discounted tuition fees, including summer school fees, based on the percentage of the scholarships throughout their education.
The quotas for scholarships are determined by the Board of Trustees each year, and are indicated in Student Selection and Placement System Guideline along with their quota numbers.
 
B- INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
 
It is awarded to foreign national students who want to study at undergraduate degree program based on the quotas specific to countries as part of internationalization mission of the University. 
 
“International Student Scholarship”, provided for students placed into undergraduate (4-year) degree programs at Izmir University of Economics, covers;
 
a) Annual tuition fees, including Summer School fees,

b) Dormitory fees for those who want to reside at the University dormitory,

c) Monthly stipends in order to cover the basic needs with an amount and duration to be designated by the Board of Trustees,

d) Health insurance premiums.
 
Other expenses such as transportation, transfer and bureaucratic procedures are not included in the scholarship.
 
Students, who continue their undergraduate studies at a higher education institution abroad but want to study at Izmir University of Economics as a “Guest Student”, can also benefit from this scholarship. Those, who have studied at their current university for at least two semesters, are accepted as guest student, and they can take courses at Izmir University of Economics for no more than two semesters.
 
Duration of Scholarships
 
Izmir University of Economics pledges not to terminate the scholarships due to grade point averages, or passing grade levels or courses, given that full attendance is provided. The duration for scholarships in Foreign Language Preparatory Program is maximum of 2 years; in Associate Degree (2 year) programs is maximum of 3 years; and in Undergraduate Degree programs is maximum of 5 years.
 
The period of deferred registration, for students with justified and valid reasons, is added to their maximum scholarship period.
 
Free dormitory opportunity for full tuition students is 2 academic years for prep class, and 4 academic years for departments. Full tuition scholarship students who are in their second year at foreign language preparatory class, and in their fifth year at the department they registered to, are not awarded the monthly stipends.
 
Suspension of Scholarships 
 
Scholarships are awarded to students who continue with their education and classes. The scholarships are suspended in the event of:
 
a) Failing to register for courses in any semester without a justified cause,
b) Failing to meet the attendance requirement for foreign language preparatory class,
c) Failing in Foreign Language Preparatory Program at the end of two academic years,
d) Scoring NA grade (Non Attendant) in more than three courses even though the student renewed registration for the department/program he/she enrolled to.
 
·         If the students has a GPA of at least 2.50 and above, scholarship of the student cannot be suspended even if the student scores NA (Non Attendant) in more than three courses. However, these students are allowed for one time only within their maximum scholarship period to continue their education conditionally as a scholarship student in the following semester.
 
·         The monthly stipends are discontinued in the event of suspended scholarship, and students pay for the tuition fees and dormitory fees themselves in the following semester.
 
·         Those periods, when the scholarship is suspended, are included in the maximum scholarship period.
 
·         The scholarships of those students, who succeed in foreign language preparatory class, and those who attend the classes they registered for regularly (not scoring NA in any courses) in the following semester/s, resume within their maximum scholarship period.

Termination of Scholarships

The Full Scholarship, Other Quota Scholarships, Diploma Scholarship, and International Student Scholarship will be terminated in the event of;

a) Not renewing registration for two consecutive or intermittent semesters,
b) Exceeding the maximum period of scholarship,
c) Receiving a suspension from the school for at least one semester.
 
General Provisions

·         Those who graduated from an undergraduate program of any university in Turkey or abroad cannot benefit from Full Scholarship.
 
·         Students, who are awarded more than one scholarship, can benefit from the one with the highest amount and most extensive scholarship.
 
·         The scholarships awarded by Izmir University of Economics are complimentary and they do not bind the students with any financial or service obligations.
 
C- MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Merit scholarships are awarded to students who display outstanding performance in the Fall/Spring semesters of the academic year in which they registered for undergraduate/associate degree program, and the discount rate is designated by the Board of Trustees. Merit scholarships do not include preparatory program.

The quotas and rates for this scholarship are determined by the Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the University Senate by taking the University budget into consideration.

Merit scholarships are awarded to students who display outstanding performance in the Fall/Spring semesters of the academic year in which they registered for undergraduate/associate degree program, excluding preparatory program.

“Merit Scholarship” is awarded to first, second, and third grade students who meet the following requirements:

a) Renewing registration for Fall/Spring semesters of the present academic year and taking at least 60 ECTS credit courses at the end of 1st grade, at least 120  ECTS credit courses at the end of 2nd grade, at least 180 ECTS credit courses at the end of 3rd grade, and obtaining at least 50 ECTS credits total for the respective year,
b) Achieving a GPA of 3.50 or above for those two semesters.

c) Getting a high internship grade in semester/s subject to merit scholarship.

ç) Not receiving any disciplinary punishments other than warning or reprimand in semester/s subject to merit scholarship.

“Merit Scholarship” is awarded to fourth grade students who meet the following requirements:

a) Obtaining a weigted grade average of 3.50 or above for courses taken in fourth grade (7th and 8th semesters) in the registered undergraduate program during fourth grade Fall and Spring semesters.


b) Getting a high internship grade in semester/s subject to merit scholarship.

c) Not receiving any disciplinary punishments other than warning or reprimand in semester/s subject to merit scholarship.

Duration of Merit Scholarship

Students are awarded merit scholarship for the duration of one academic year, but the grant’s continuity is not guaranteed, and it does not include summer school fees. If a student meets the requirements, he/she may be awarded the scholarship for more than one academic year.

If senior students meet the requirements for merit scholarship, they may be allowed to use it in the first year of a Graduate Degree program they will be accepted for one time only. Continuity of the scholarship is decided by the University.

D-MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

DOĞAN TURHAN SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is granted in memory of Doğan TURHAN, who deceased in 2014, by his family. Doğan TURHAN served in the logistics sector for many years and contributed greatly to the development of this sector in Turkey, and launched his own business in logistics.

DOĞAN TURHAN SCHOLARSHIP is granted to the students at IUE Department of Logistics Management.

It is granted to the successful students at IUE Department of Logistics who are placed with tuition quota.

The holders of “DOĞAN TURHAN SCHOLARSHIP” are chosen among the students who qualified to receive the “Merit Scholarship” specified in IUE Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs Scholarship Regulation.
 
In matters regarding duration, suspension, etc. of DOĞAN TURHAN SCHOLARSHIP, provisions stated in IUE Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs Scholarship Regulation will be in effect.
 
Academicians of Izmir University of Economics who are involved in scientific studies in Logistics field can also benefit from “DOĞAN TURHAN SCHOLARSHIP. The academicians, who will receive this scholarship as research support, are determined by a commission which is composed of the Head of Department of Logistics Management and a representative of TURHAN FAMILY headed by the Dean of Faculty of Business Administration.
