Profile of the Program

The main aim of the Political Science and International Relations PhD Program is to provide its graduates with adequate skills and knowledge, enabling them the capability to conduct scholarly advanced research on the fields of Political Science and International Relations and to pursue a successful career in academia or in public and private sectors. The Graduates are to be well-equipped researchers with advanced knowledge in their elected primary and secondary areas of expertise, who would efficiently use both quantitative and qualitative research methods; have a good command of political theory, comparative politics and theories and concepts of international relations, and, follow the current debate and discussion over these latter scientific fields. Thus, the graduates can join academia and become academics scientifically contributing to the fields of Political Science and International Relations or advance their careers in public or private sectors. Moreover, they will acquire skills to discuss the outcomes of their scientific research, both verbally and in written format at national and international scholarly gatherings.
