Profile of the Program

The aim of the Ph.D. Program in Economics is to provide the knowledge and skills for high quality scientific research in economics for a successful career in academia, the public and private sectors. Graduates, who have a strong command of microeconomics and macroeconomics and the current debates in economics, who have an advanced level of knowledge and background to contribute to current debate in their fields of choice, who can apply advanced quantitative and econometric methods and can track developments in these methods, are either scholars who contribute to development and application of knowledge in economics or candidates for high level careers in the public and private sectors. In addition, graduates gain skills to articulate their research to national and international audiences both in writing and orally.
