Additional Notes

To be eligible for graduation, it is necessary to take 240 ECTS credits in total. Students should choose their General Education Courses (GEC) and elective courses to complete the required credits. Otherwise, they may not meet the graduation criteria.

Important Explanation about Elective Courses

English Translation and Interpreting students have to take 9 elective courses:

-6 departmental electives,

-3 outside (non-departmental) electives.

Important Explanation about General Education Courses (GEC)

İMT 310 Turkish Sign Language* course:

a) Students enrolled in undergraduate programs with English as the medium of instruction can take this course during the course registration period. The course is not included in semester total ECTS credits.
b) If a student fails the course,
· the student is not obliged to take the course again until s/he passes the course.
· the student is not allowed to retake the course
· if the student requests it, the course is not included in the transcript as it is not considered in the course load, GPA, and CGPA calculations.
· it does not hinder graduation.

İMT 320 Introduction to Audio Description course:

a) Students enrolled in undergraduate programs with English as the medium of instruction can take this course during the course registration period. The course is not included in semester total ECTS credits.
b) If a student fails the course,
· the student is not obliged to take the course again until s/he passes the course.

  • 1 course from “Natural and Life Sciences”

  • 1 course from “Social Awareness and Ethics”
  • 1 course from “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”
